To be really simple, think of it as Tom’s new managers.
These guys will be the ones to offer and supply Tom with gigs around Australia, and as you can see by their website, they have a very good base of talent on their list. And Tom has just joined it!
Event managers, when planning an event, ask talent/entertertainment agencies to recommend a suitable performer to cater for the event they are planning. It could be a big music festival, a community open air concert, or it could be a smaller private function, maybe even a wedding (but I doubt Tom would do any weddings).
It’s exciting stuff, especially when you find a GOOD talent agency/agent… and this certainly appears to be great.
Let’s all watch and see what sort of gigs Tom will start to do!

It’s very different to a record deal; if that’s what you mean Liz.
It’s the ‘middle man’ between Tom and prospective gigs/performances. Usually they’ll offer relevant and suitable events to Tom.
Although, as I’ve found, some of these agencies have real favourites (artists that count on time and time again); so let’s hope Tom will establish himself as one of those.
Although, other times, people organising events have the power to request certain artists too…
It’s a complex system but I imagine we’ll seem Tom performing around the place. I have no idea in what capacity or how often though. Best of luck to him in his new ventures. It’s a lot of fun.
But I hope he doesn’t get caught in the corporate entertainment scene. BORING!
